Since I'm Not Popular, I'll Think About The Future

It's official, the last episode of WATAMOTE is out. Like all anime, it came to an end. [except for like naruto, one piece&fairy tail that has been freaking going on for years]

The episode started out with Tomoko just going throughout her usual school day, alone. She gets home and dreams about how she wished High School would of been, having friends and having fun with them. It begins to get pretty sad when she starts crying over these dreams. To take her mind off of it, she starts doing her homework, which is like to set future goals for yourself or something.
She calls her middle school friend, Yuu, for ideas, who reminds her that her dream was to be an Arms Merchant. ahaha Like a person who sells guns. Thinking about her past again, Tomoko hangs up the phone and begins to cry again. She stops when she realizes she'd rather think about the future.

SO SHE GOES TO TALK TO HER BROTHER, TOMOKI. [YES I FREAKING LOVE TOMOKI] If you didn't know, like the first episode, she made a deal with him so she could talk to him everyday to be better at talking to other people outside of her home. These talks tend to be hilarious because her brother really doesn't give a shit.
She says that because they have no meaning, she doesn't need to talk to him daily anymore. [aww those were my favorite parts of the whole series] But she wasn't against hanging out with him every one and a while, but in truth, he doesn't really care. She starts to leave, and says thanks to him and that she has no use for him anymore. But Tomoki is really like, what the hell?

When she goes back to school, she sees Imae-san, the girl from that last episode, in the hallway. Tomoko gets some idea in her head and starts to follow her around the school. When Tomoko gets back to class, she apparently set up cameras around the classroom to tape what people say about her when she's not there so she can justify her actions when she is around them to order for them to talk to her. [this is getting really sad tomoko] She listens in on the conversations to find out not only do they not say anything bad about her, they don't talk about her at all. *cue Another references*
But okay, all the Another references cracked me up. [if you haven't seen that amazing thriller anime, go watch it now]

So in the middle of class, people start screaming about a cockroach and so, of course, Tomoko gets this idea that she would be the one to get rid of it to get people to notice her. She steps on the cockroach, and all of these people start cheering her name. But it turns out to be a dream. [the cheering part] In reality, the teacher just tells her to wash off her shoe.
Later when she's in the bathroom, she hears people talking about her. Saying that what she did was "freaky" [aww]

At the end of the school day, she sees Imae-san again and is determined to talk to her. When Tomoko reaches out her her, there is a blast of wind, causing Tomoko to see her underwear, making this your typical awkward moment that Tomoko always seems to get into. xD When Imae-san sees Tomoko, she smiles and greets her, but Tomoko gets nervous and runs away. [omg there is only like 5 minutes left of this last episode don't let this end all sad please please] Imae-san's friends show up and she begins talking about how cute Tomoko is and how she's so determined to do things. "I guess you could say I can't take my eyes off her." [okay, is this chick suddenly a lesbian now?]

Cue back to Tomoko running away. The opening song starts playing in the background, which is causing me to crack up. [I didn't even notice that they never played the opening before] All this is going on as she is running with this stupid look on her face. [i'm like crying this is hilarious]
But seriously, just imagine her running with this song playing in the background. [which is a pretty bad-ass opening]

The episode ends with Tomoko sitting in her room with all the lights out and her mother is calling her down for dinner. Tomoko is looking up the definition for an 'unpopular girl' She turns around and begins to laugh stating that none of it really matters anyways. She closes out the browser and heads downstairs for dinner.

I'm not gonna say I'm mad at the ending, just a bit disappointed. Sure it ended sort of happily, but she never really made any friends. It's a comedy anime that is depressingly relatable. I really should of expected that ending though. If it had ended with her running like that, I would of been dying with laughter, but it didn't. But I could say it did. It had a pretty cheesy ending. [like Soul Eater did] Where she realizes that being popular really doesn't matter.
WATAMOTE could definitely have a second season, which I'm counting on because this anime is really funny. It's right up there with Ouran Highschool Host Club.
Thanks for the gruesome, awkward, funny moments Tomoko~

WATAMOTE Episode 11

It's Tuesday! Which means a new episode of WATAMOTE came out today! ;D For those who don't know what WATAMOTE is it stands for 'Watashi ga Motenai no wa Dou Kangaete mo Omaera ga Warui.' In english, that's 'No Matter How I Look At It, It's You Guys' Fault I'm Not Popular. The plot is as follows: "Having been well-versed in the world of otome games, fifteen-year-old Tomoko Kuroki believes that she would become popular upon entering high school. However, she discovers this is far from the truth as she winds up being an unsociable loner and is forced to take a long hard look at herself for the first time in years. The story follows Tomoko as she attempts to improve her social status as she progresses through high school."

So yeah, it's basically a hilarious anime about a girl who gets into really awkward situations. I recommend it to really anyone like 13+ I guess. If you're not 13 yet and still want to watch it, you can. You're a rebel&don't like anyone telling you what to do; I get it. I like that.
I'm just going to start posting like summaries in my version&reaction to the episodes as I watch it. So here we go...

So of course, the episode starts off with Tomoko sitting alone by herself as her classmates prepare for this festival going on at her school. She complains that she wants to go home. You'd think after 10 episodes, she'd at least have one friend by now, considering there's only 12 episodes in the reason. Oh my gosh, I just realized the next episode is the last one. D;
Okay, back to the episode...

                                             *cue bad-ass opening*

After the opening, she's still complaining about being there. Her class decided on doing a cosplay cafe for the festival, but Tomoko is just sitting there doing nothing. You know, being her usual self and hating all of her classmates because they don't talk to her. So it doesn't really surprise me when she starts doing this.
I'm not really sure what they're referencing here, but it still made me laugh. ahaha
Two of her classmates need these flyers cut and were talking about how they could get these boys to do it since they weren't doing anything anyways. What surprises me is that Tomoko volunteers to do it. She normally doesn't willingly talk to anybody she doesn't know very well. Four for you, Tomoko. The girls decline because Tomoko is shaking and looking weird because she has a hard time talk to people, but Tomoko insists and the girls agree for her to do it.
She comes up with this plan in her head to drag out the process to last all day so she wouldn't have to do anything else. She was going to freAKING DO EXERCISES AFTER CUTTING EACH SHEET OF PAPER JUST TO DRAG IT OUT. But these two boys come over saying they were told to help her. She starts like cursing them out in her head because they were working to fast and "they would be finished cutting the paper in no time!"
Some of her classmates roll in the cosplays costumes, and  all Tomoko can about is wanting to try them on. This results in her cutting herself with the boxcutter and so she rushes to the nurse's office. [she goes here a lot] On her way to nurse, she runs into this girl, knocking all the papers out of the girl's hand. Tomoko starts rushing to pick them all up, getting blood all over them, causing the girl to freaking scream out in horror and rushing Tomoko to the nurse's office.
There's an announcement asking for help in the gym to set up chairs to anyone available. Not wanting to go back to her class, Tomoko helps out. After she's done, she sees the girl who she ran into earlier. The girl wishes her to have a 'fun festival' which making Tomoko smile. awww. This gives her the courage to go back to her classroom to help....to find out it's empty and everyone went home because they finished.
On her way home, Tomoko stops at a store and buys a cosplay outfit or what looks like a maid with horns? She sends a picture of herself in it to her old childhood friend, Yuu. Yuu says she'll come to the festival, but on the second day when Tomoko didn't plan on going.. Tomoko sadly says she'll be waiting for her and closes the phone.

Tomoko goes to the festival and wanders around by herself. She even buys some bad tokoyaki from a guy because he smiled and winked at her. Of course you would, Tomoko. She finds a room where they're performing music and happily sit down, wanting to waste time by playing on her phone. But it's replaced with a glo-light as the band starts playing.
Tomoko tries hard to blend in with the crowd after missing her chance to slip out the doors. She begins to get dizzy and ends up puking up the tokoyaki she ate right then and there.

At the end of the day, she talks to Yuu on the phone and they talk about where they are going to meet tomorrow. Tomoko says to meet in her classroom because she wanted to brag to her classmates at what a cute friend she had. [tomoko you creeper] She didn't actually say that to Yuu, just in her head, ahah.

The next day at the festival, when Yuu sees Tomoko she runs up and gives her a hug. Tomoko starts mentally freaking out wondering on how to react to Yuu hugging her in front of her classmates. She even decided that sHE WAS GOING TO TOUCH HER BUTT but Yuu stopped hugging her before she could do it. What the hell Tomoko??

The two wander the festival. Tomoko is hoping for Yuu to hug her again for some reason. Which is really sad because she says the hug felt comforting because she is lonely. They end up finding this haunted house room and Tomoko is thinking up this scenario where Yuu will hug her again. Tomoko though, this is getting weird, even for you..
A scene of the girl that ran into Tomoko earlier is asking her classmates if she is working at the cafe, but they said they didn't even know she had a shift. I'm sure that will be relevant later...

It turns out the haunted house wasn't even scary which makes Tomoko mad because she didn't get Yuu to hug her. She runs off to think of a better plan for Yuu to hug her.

Tomoko comes back with all this food for Yuu. Yuu then runs off saying she'll buy Tomoko something to eat too after Tomoko insisting she doesn't. Out of all things, she buys Tomoko some of the takoyaki she threw up the day before, ahaha.

*cue monologue of Tomoko&Yuu doing stuff together at the festival*

Yuu gets a phone call from her friends, which indicates that she has to leave. She waves goodbye to Tomoko, who is realizing that she actually had a fun time, but is still sad that Yuu left.

The girl that ran into Tomoko earlier saw Tomoko looking sad and asks to borrow this mascot suit. She puts it on and takes a balloon from the balloon cart. She walks up to Tomoko and reaches the balloon out to her. As Tomoko grabs it, the girl wraps her arms around Tomoko into a hug. awwww ♥

The closing comes on, and it's the same, but with Tomoko holding a balloon as a bunch of balloons float around the screen.

This weeks episode wasn't as funny as the others, but I suppose it's because they have to start wrapping up the season since the last episode is next week. :c
But this is the first episode to actually end happily for Tomoko! Which was pretty cool.
I do hope for another season.
